With more than 100 years of service to workers in our community, CUPE Local 50 is recognizable in Victoria and throughout the Capital Region. Turns out a well-known Canadian celebrity also knows about what we do!

CUPE 50’s past-president John Burrows recently took part in the call to write postcards to Canadian arts icon Donald Sutherland to celebrate the actor being honoured with a Canada Post stamp.

Donald replied to John’s postcard with: “In solidarity forever. We’re all in this together.” And we couldn’t agree more!

Donald’s career spans six decades with roles in more than 50 films including The Dirty Dozen, Ordinary People, JFK, Backdraft, The Italian Job, and The Hunger Games. He has received numerous accolades including a Primetime Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Critics Choice Award.
